Sunland Park Mall Announces Reopening
Sunland Park Mall to reopen on Monday, May 4, 2020

El Paso, TX (April 29, 2020) – Sunland Park Mall plans to reopen on Monday, May 4, 2020 with hours of 11:00am-7:00pm Monday through Saturday and 12:00pm-6:00pm Sunday.

Planned reopening dates for individual tenants may vary, so guests are encouraged to call ahead and to follow along on Facebook (@sunlandparkmall), Instagram (@shopsunlandpark) and the Center’s website (sunlandparkmall.com) for the most up-to-date information.

Sunland Park Mall remains focused on providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. In the continued need to address COVID-19, the Center has proactively implemented additions to the Code of Conduct, effective immediately and until further notice.

These additions include the following guidelines for guests:

  • Practice social distancing and stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from other people.
  • Covering your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover is recommended.
  • Do not gather in groups.
  • Adhere to each individual tenant’s COVID-19 policies.
  • Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations, recommendations and mandates regarding COVID-19.

The Code of Conduct is posted on property and is available online.

In addition, Sunland Park Mall’s already rigorous disinfectant and cleaning practices will continue, many times per day, including periodically disinfecting areas most susceptible to the spread of germs.

Alcohol-based hand sanitizer dispensers are located in highly-trafficked areas and walkways for public use. Center management is meeting with housekeeping on a daily basis and monitoring alcohol-based hand sanitizing product supply to help ensure all units are stocked.

“We are inspired by the resilience of our community and look forward to safely welcoming back our guests, said Kelley Baker, General Manager, at Sunland Park Mall. “We will continue to work with local, state and federal agencies to do all we can in order to contribute to the containment, treatment and prevention of COVID-19.”

While Sunland Park Mall transitions into reopening during this unprecedented time, more than ever, Sunland Park Mall is embracing its role as a community partner by finding unique ways to transform its space for social good.

Beginning April 10, Sunland Park Mall partnered with the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank to become a drive-thru Mega Pantry Distribution site. For three weeks, each Monday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., El Paso residents and families in need could come to the town center to pick up an emergency food box.

The addition of this new distribution location at Sunland Park Mall helped El Pasoans Fighting Hunger expand its services, particularly for families living on the west side of El Paso. On Friday, April 24 alone, the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank and members of the Army National Guard helped distribute more than 2,000 boxes of food to 1,600 cars.

The drive-thru style of the distribution site allowed El Pasoans Fighting Hunger to continue their vital mission while protecting the health and safety of both their volunteers and El Paso residents. Since beginning this method in March, the food bank has provided more than 60,000 emergency food boxes to community members, and Sunland Park Mall was proud to be a part of the effort.
